Education
Chiropractic training consists of a five year Master of Chiropractic (MChiro) which includes a final year clinical internship. Registered chiropractors are trained in general diagnosis and are recognised by the Department of Health as primary care practitioners. This allows them to not only treat musculoskeletal conditions, but to also recognise the signs and symptoms of disease. If chiropractic care is not suitable for a particular patient then referral to another healthcare professional could be appropriate. However, the best patient outcomes are often achieved with combined care.
A chiropractor is not a medical Doctor but is a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC). Chiropractors do not prescribe drugs or perform surgical procedures. We do not treat conditions or disease but manually restore function to the spine, musculoskeletal system and nerves.

Mark Walles (Doctor of Chiropractic) is a full member of the British Chiropractic Association (BCA – www.chiropractic-uk.co.uk). The Chiropractors Act of 1994 requires that all chiropractors register with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC – www.gcc-uk.org) and undertake ongoing training as part of a rigorous cycle of Continuing Professional Development.
Insurance
Mark Walles Chiropractic provides care which is reimbursed by most major insurance providers including including WPA, Aviva, PruHealth and others.
